Findr Privacy Policy

Findr is built by GRCSAC. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to make taste-matching work, we never sell your data, and we show you no ads.

What we collect

• Your ratings (which titles you rated and on which tier). This is the core of Findr.
• A User ID: you choose a unique username the first time you open Findr. It’s required — it’s how friends find you and how your ratings stay tied to you. You can also set a display name.
• Account info: if you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the email Apple shares (which can be Apple’s private relay address). Without sign-in, your data is tied to an anonymous identifier.
• A push token, only if you enable notifications, so we can deliver them.
• Reports and blocks. If you report another user, we store your report — including who filed it, who it concerns, and any details you write — so we can review and act on it. Reports are never shown to the person you reported. If you block someone, we record that too, so we can keep you apart.

What we don’t collect

No location. No contacts. No advertising identifiers. No third-party analytics or trackers — in the app or on this website. We never sell or share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

How your data is used

Ratings power recommendations, taste-match percentages, and (if you opt in) friend suggestions. Your visibility is controlled by your connection mode: in “Recommendations only” (the default) nobody can find you; in “Taste Friends” people can find you by username or suggestion.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (hosted on AWS, Canada region), protected by row-level security so each account can only read what it’s entitled to see.

Deleting your data

“Reset my selections” in Settings permanently deletes all your ratings. For full account deletion, email findr@grcsac.com and we’ll remove your account and every associated record.

Children

Findr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Catalog data

Title information and artwork come from IGDB, TMDB, Deezer, Open Library, and AniList. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
