Findr Privacy Policy

Findr is built by GRCSAC. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to make taste-matching work, we never sell your data, and we show you no ads.

What we collect

  • Your ratings (which titles you rated and on which tier). This is the core of Findr.
  • Optional profile details: a display name, a username, and — only if you turn on Dating mode — your birth year, gender, and who you’re interested in meeting.
  • Account info: if you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the email Apple shares (which can be Apple’s private relay address). Without sign-in, your data is tied to an anonymous identifier.
  • A push token, only if you enable notifications, so we can deliver them.

What we don’t collect

No location. No contacts. No advertising identifiers. No third-party analytics or trackers — in the app or on this website. We never sell or share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

How your data is used

Ratings power recommendations, taste-match percentages, and (if you opt in) friend suggestions and dating matches. Your visibility is controlled by your connection mode: in “Recommendations only” (the default) nobody can find you; in “Taste Friends” people can find you by username or suggestion; “Dating” is strictly opt-in and 18+.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (hosted on AWS, Canada region), protected by row-level security so each account can only read what it’s entitled to see.

Deleting your data

“Reset my selections” in Settings permanently deletes all your ratings. For full account deletion, email findr@grcsac.com and we’ll remove your account and every associated record.

Children

Findr is not directed at children under 13. Dating mode is restricted to users 18 and older and requires a signed-in account.

Catalog data

Title information and artwork come from IGDB, TMDB, Deezer, Open Library, and AniList. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
